St Wilfred’s Hospice
St Wilfrid's Hospice was opened in 1982 in Mill Gap Road in Eastbourne when outpatients visited once a week for tea. In 1983 the hospice accepted its first inpatients and in 2013 it moved to the purpose-built building on Broadwater Way, equipped with a 20-bed Inpatient Unit and Wellbeing Centre.
Barwells have supported various events with St Wilfred’s over the years including the annual Pancake Race which raised over £8,000 in 2017.
Through it’s stewardship of the Keith Baker Charitable Trust, Barwells were part of the process of facilitating an award of £500,000 to St Wilfred’s to assist with the building of their new facility.
