1. Flint Owl Bakery

Flint Owl Bakery’s specialty is organic, homemade bread and pastries that taste as good as they look. Their sourdoughs are made using a traditional slow fermentation process, taking around 48 hours from start to finish.

They have cafes in Lewes, East Grinstead, and Brighton. At the Lewes branch, you can also find a lunch menu that changes daily and a beautiful courtyard garden for you to enjoy your purchases. It’s also dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged friend with you to enjoy a leisurely hour at the bakery.

Many of our team members can lose themselves in Closet & Botts for hours at a time, with so many beautiful and fascinating pieces of vintage and new homewares, fashion, and gifts to see. Owners Chloe and Harriet opened the shop after being inspired by trips to flea markets and car boot sales across Europe.

They also offer wedding and event hire, so you can furnish your venue with one-of-a-kind vintage finds to make your day even more special.

As well as stocking a range of books including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and children’s literature, Boon Books also have a “reading roulette” you can try. Buy a mystery book from your favourite genre that is already packaged in brown paper for a fun surprise.
