We’re proud to announce our Chartered status

Barwells Wealth is proud to announce that we have been awarded Chartered status by the Chartered Insurance Institute. This achievement places us among an elite group of firms within the UK financial services sector. In fact, of nearly 5,000 firms nationwide, only around 900 have been awarded Chartered status.

We wanted to take this opportunity to explain what Chartered status means for us, what it means for you, and why we’re so excited to be moving forward as a Chartered firm.

Chartered status is a mark of excellence

Lee Waters, Chief Executive and Chartered financial planner at Barwells Wealth, says: “Becoming a Chartered financial planning firm is the gold standard of recognition in our profession, awarded only to firms that demonstrate the highest levels of technical knowledge, ethical standards, and commitment to client outcomes.”

Chartered status also reflects the dedication of our entire team to maintaining and improving the standard of advice we provide to clients, as well as the value we place on ongoing professional development.

What our Chartered status means for you

For clients, this milestone is more than just a title. It represents an assurance that you’re working with a firm that operates to the highest standards of professional conduct within the sector. In practical terms, nothing changes for you day to day, but you can rest assured that:

  • You’re receiving advice from highly qualified advisers
  • We’ll take an ethical, long-term approach to your finances
  • Your financial plan aligns with the latest governance and oversight standards
  • We’ll always prioritise your best interests.

We also care deeply about the continuous education and training of our advisers and take steps to ensure that they remain up to date with the latest developments, regulatory changes, and planning strategies, enabling us to provide tailored, forward-thinking advice that’s never past its sell-by date.

Our future as a Chartered firm

As proud as we are of this achievement, it’s not the final destination. We want to continue to improve, raising our standards and refining our strategic approach even further. Ultimately, we hope our Chartered status challenges us to continue finding new ways to deliver even greater value to our clients over time.

Thank you!

Lastly, we want to express our gratitude for the trust you’ve placed in us over the past 25 years.

Lee Waters adds: “Your continued trust, loyalty, and willingness to engage with the planning process have allowed us to grow, evolve, and reach this point. Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to continuing to support you in making confident, well-informed financial decisions for many years to come.”
