Meet The Team

Lee Waters

Lee Waters

Chief Executive/Compliance Officer

Having studied Law at the University of Hertfordshire, Lee has over 18 years’ experience within the Financial Services Industry. He has gained professional examinations with the Institute of Financial Services and the Chartered Insurance Institute. He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

His areas of expertise include pension funding, retirement options, Financial Planning, investment planning, personal protection and trustee investment. Lee also holds the specialist care fees planning qualification, CF8 and Equity Release qualification ER1 from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Lee also advises on inheritance tax mitigation and capital gains tax, and prepares tax returns for clients and trustees.

Away from the office, Lee is married with two children. Given the time, he likes to play cricket for Balcombe, run and cycle, and enjoys most types of music.

Andrew Woods

Andrew Woods

Director/Company Secretary

Following a change in legislation in April 2009, Andrew was one of the very first non-lawyers to be appointed to a partnership of a law firm in England. He spent the first part of his career at NatWest Bank, where he undertook a variety of roles including time as an Inspector of Trustee branches and a Senior Manager in charge of a team of high net worth investment advisers.

Moving to Barwells Solicitors in 1998, Andrew was instrumental in setting up Barwells Wealth, and now specialises in Wills and Probate as well as being a Director of Barwells Solicitors. Andrew is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds their Trustee Diploma. He also holds the Personal Finance Society Diploma having passed their Advanced Financial Planning examinations.

Outside the office, Andrew is a keen golfer and skier. He also plays the Bass Guitar very badly.

Roger Waters

Roger Waters

Financial Planner

Roger has had the pleasure of assisting clients with their finances for more than 40 years, initially in the Trust and Tax department of a high street bank, and then progressing as a regulated financial adviser – a role he has pursued for almost 25 years. Roger has been with Barwells for 20 years as an Independent Financial Adviser, having left the Bank in order to provide advice to clients rather than being employed to sell products.

Roger feels he must be doing something right as he has many clients to whom he has been giving advice for more than 25 years. He specialises in providing advice on personal and trust investments, inheritance tax planning, and pensions. He also prepares tax returns for clients and trustees.

Roger is married with two sons and four grandchildren, and when he is not with his family he enjoys walking and swimming, as unfortunately, his cricket playing days are just a distant memory now!
